Each sketch is created by hand in graphite pencil on Stonehenge Fine Art Paper – a warm white, smooth-textured surface that allows for subtle tone and line to show through. The paper has a natural tooth, ideal for this style of drawing where I use just one or two pencil grades to build soft depth without overworking the detail.
These sketches differ from my more detailed pencil portraits in that they intentionally embrace simplicity and flow. There’s no extra details like backgrounds, hats, coast or tack etc — just your pet’s head and chest drawn in a timeless style.
