We set up a secure, personal portal for every client as soon as your commission begins. It is your own private window into the studio — updated throughout the process so you always know exactly what is happening with your portrait.
What the Portal Means for You
Commissioning a portrait is an act of trust. You are handing us photographs of someone you love and asking us to create something meaningful from them. We never take that lightly — and the portal is one of the ways we make sure you feel part of the process rather than simply waiting in the dark.
From the moment your commission begins, your portal is live. You can check in whenever you like, share it with family and friends, and watch your pet's portrait take shape at your own pace.

For Pencil Portrait Clients
As soon as your deposit is placed and your design mockup is approved, it appears in your portal. You can see exactly where you sit in the commissions list — so you always have a clear sense of how your portrait is progressing towards the top.
Your pencil portal includes
- Your approved design mockup — the composition and crop agreed before drawing begins
- Your live position on the commissions list — updated as work progresses
- A clear view of where your portrait sits among current commissions
- A secure, private page that only you can access with your login details
Many pencil clients tell us they check their position in the list regularly — there is something genuinely exciting about watching your portrait move up towards the top, knowing Melanie is getting closer to picking up her pencils.
For Oil Painting Clients
Oil portraits develop in layers over weeks, and the portal lets you watch that process unfold. Nicholas photographs the painting at key stages and uploads each image to your private gallery — so you can follow every brushstroke from the first marks on the canvas through to the finished, varnished piece.
