Henry commissioned us to paint a photograph that his son took of him while Henry and his dog Daisy were out in their boat on Yellowstone in 2011. The photograph was one of those moments in time captured perfectly. To everyone it looked as though Henry and Daisy were holding a conversation - hence the title of the painting 'Conversation on Yellowstone'. Henry very kindly emailed us a photo of himself with his wife susan , the portrait and their dog Daisy below - just perfect!
This is the second painting that we have completed for Henry and Susan, I painted their beautiful dog Butu a few years ago which also hangs in their home. "Conversation on the Yellowstone" has arrived in perfect condition, and just came back from the framers.
It looks wonderful.
Susan and I couldn't be more delighted.
Daisy looks a little more shaggy now than in the portrait, but she is scheduled for her grooming tomorrow.
