One of the most common questions we are asked is - How much is a pet portrait going to cost? We try to direct our prospective clients here to our Pet Portrait Prices page which should give you most of the information you require. You can also download a PDF version of our price list here - pet portraits prices for offline viewing. The prices are for our oil on linen canvas and our graphite pencil pet portraits. If you aren’t sure what kind of pet portrait you would like, you are more than welcome to email us your photos and we can give you a detailed quote with a number of options. Every portrait is unique - every customer is unique. So please don’t hesitate to contact us with your questions and both Nicholas and myself will be delighted to discuss your ideas.
Over the last 22 years we have found a popular size for oil portraits seems to be 16 x 12 inches for a single head and chest painting. If you are looking for a bespoke size please email us for a quote.
Oils - Multiple head portraits start at 18 x 14. Please add 10% for each additional pet. The prices above are based on standard scenarios for a portrait. We are always happy to work with clients on their ideas. Additional fees may apply for more complicated scenes and settings. If you would like a tailored quote please email us via our contact page.
Pencil - Two head studies are best drawn at 16 x 12 size and above. Three heads are best on an 18 x 14 and above. For multiple pets please add 10% for each additional pet on your chosen size. Montage drawings start at 18 x 14. Please add £50 on top of your chosen size for each study.
The shipping costs below cover the actual postage value booked with the courier. It also includes costs to cover cellophane, foamwrap, hardboard placed either side of the portrait and a sturdy double walled cardboard box. Many of our clients like to make a deposit to secure a place in our commissions list. We have a fairly long list, so saving your space can be essential, particularly if you have a specific date in mind to receive the portrait by. We ask for a £200 deposit for a pencil drawing or £500 deposit for an oil painting. Once clients have been in touch with us to arrange their portraits design, we send an email with a secure personalised link to pay a deposit using Worldpay.
