Gill Austin contacted us once again to create something meaningful for her daughter Bella’s 18th birthday. While we’re always excited to welcome new clients, it’s our repeat customers like Gill who really let us know we’re doing things right. Commission of 'Artu'
Gill Baxter, a returning client, got in touch to arrange a surprise portrait for her daughter Bella’s 18th birthday. While Bella was at school, Gill secretly took photos of their horse, Artu. She wanted the portrait to show Artu without his head collar, so she captured a second set of photos to give us the best possible reference.
Although Gill couldn't quite get his ears forward in one shot, she provided other photos showing Artu’s ears in that position, which Nicholas skillfully used to complete the portrait. The final piece was painted at 16x12 inches in oils, and the result is a timeless and elegant tribute to a much-loved horse.
