Horse Portrait in Oils – Harry
This beautiful horse portrait in oils features **Harry**, a much-loved horse painted as a graduation gift. The painting was traditionally hand-painted by Nicholas Beall on Italian linen canvas. Although Nicholas paints all animals, horses are a particular favorite—especially when it comes to painting intricate tack. Commission of Harry
This portrait of Harry was commissioned by Maya Knowland in 2012 as a surprise graduation gift for her sister Katrine. Nicholas painted Harry in oils at 18 x 14 inches using one main photo as the base reference, supported by other photos to ensure accuracy in Harry’s coloring and features.
Although the main photo was a little dark, Nicholas was able to bring Harry to life on canvas. Katrine was overjoyed with her gift, and Maya kindly sent a heartfelt message and a photo of the portrait displayed in their home.
