Commission of Billy
Nicola Hulland first contacted us in 2013 to commission a portrait of her stunning horse Billy, who had recently passed away at the grand age of 25. Nicola had always dreamed of having a horse portrait in oils on canvas and, as soon as she discovered Nicholas’s work online, she knew she’d found the right artist.
The main photo Nicola provided wasn’t especially Classic, but it had a strong, clear pose – just enough for Nicholas to work from. The painting was a large 30 x 32 inch oil on Italian linen canvas and turned out beautifully. Nicola has since commissioned portraits of her dogs too, which is always such a compliment and joy for us.
