Commission of 'Flag' – Chocolate Labrador Portrait
Flag’s portrait was commissioned by Matt and Maria Beken from Canada. Matt’s first email to us read:
“First off, let me say that I’ve checked out hundreds of ‘artists’ offering these kinds of portrait services online and you guys seem to be absolutely in a class of your own.”
It’s always an honour to be trusted with a portrait like this. Nicholas used a favourite photo of Flag as the main reference, but received many lovely images of him from different angles and in different lighting – all of which helped him understand Flag’s personality and essence.
We love working from a strong central photo but seeing supporting images really gives Nicholas a well-rounded sense of each dog’s character. Scroll down to read Maria’s feedback and see the portrait beautifully framed too.
