Our canvases are made bespoke in the UK, they are hand made using the highest quality materials, wood from sustainable sources along with fine grain italian Linen canvas. The table above is a general guide, however you can have any size portrait you require. please email for details. The subject / image will fill the whole of the canvas, head studies will have approximately 1 - 2 inches from the edge of the subject to the canvas edge.

Our pencil portraits are bespoke too and again the table above is a general guide. if you would like a specific size, just let us know when enquiring. Pencil portraits are drawn to fit the size of paper you have ordered so head studies will have approximately a 2 inch space between the image and the edge of the paper. Portraits with backgrounds will be drawn with approximately 1 inch space around the edge of the paper. This will allow the framer to attach a mount / matt to the portrait and you will have gained the largest possible sized drawing on the size you have ordered.

Size guide for portraits

• 8 x 6 - 14 x 10 - one head / shoulders only
  
• 16 x 12 - up to 2 head studies or one full body
  
• 18 x 14 - up to 3 studies or two full bodies
  
• 20 x 16 / 22 x 16 - up to 4 studies or three full bodies
  
• 24 x 18 - up to 5 studies or four full bodies
  
• 24 x 20 and above - multiple combinations.
  

Multiple Pets / People in your Portraits

Extra Pets in Your Oil Portrait
Second and subsequent pets are £100 each

Extra Pets in Your Pencil Portraits
Second and subsequent subjects are £40 each.

Person in Your Oil Portrait
To have a person in your portrait it is £150 each

Head / Shoulders / Full Body
No extra charge for full body portrait

Backgrounds in Oils

Portraits in oils come as standard with a tonal background which compliment the colouring and tones of the subject. If clients would prefer an out door background this is an optional extra. We will need to discuss the background photo to find out how much detail is required as to the costs. The table below gives a general guide.

Tonal Background = Free
Simple Background for head & chest portraits = £50 all sizes
Specific Scenic Background for full body portraits as follows

• Medium sizes = £100 - £200
• Larger Sizes = £200 - £400
• Extra large sizes = £400 - £600

Backgrounds in Pencil

If you would like a background in pencil, it can either be a tonal background or a full landscape covering the entire paper. There is a small charge for scenic background depending on complexity and size. Please email me with the photos and your ideas and we can chat about your options.

Framing For Our Oil Pet & People Portraits

Framing is optional, however we can highly recommend our wonderful framer Jane who frames our portraits for us.

Jane's framing workshop is in our next village so its very handy for us to pop and see her at any time. She has an excellent range of mouldings and will always try to meet our clients requests.
