Happy Customers - Photos!
Melanie and two happy customers with a portrait in oils of bertie a cairn terrier.

Welcome to my Happy Customers Pages. When I started painting pets about 10 years ago I would never have dreamt that I would receive so many wonderful letters of heart felt thanks. It often reduces me to tears when I read them, they are so personal that half of them i am unable to reproduce in full on these pages as i often feel it wouldn't be right somehow.

When a client has sadly lost their pet, the emotions they release when they see their beloved animal immortalized on canvas always comes across their their letters. One particular client I remember working for said that he was a big hefty 6 foot man, hard as nails rugby player, yet he cried like a baby when he received the portrait i did for him after he lost his beloved dog. Its a great release and I think a wonderful part of the healing process. "Its almost like having them back in the room again" some clients have told me.

I have even had visitors look at my site, not even planning on purchasing a portrait and email to say how wonderful the letters are and how they found themselves glued to these pages with tears rolling down their cheeks. So I hope you enjoy these pages, I hope that some of the stories don't pull at your hear strings too much and if you would like your pet immortalized on canvas, just email me at any time.

Oil Painting of Lothur - The following are snippets of two emails from Beverly Crane who ordered a portrait of Lothur for her husbands christmas gift. She very kindly took a range of photos when he was unwrapping it on Christmas Day.

Melanie,
Well, words can not describe how I feel when I look at his painting. It is beyond wonderful and is simply stunning. You even captured the little fuzzy hairs on his nose and his nose even looks wet. He looks as if you could reach out and touch him. Looking at his eyes, it almost looks as if I am truly looking into his eyes and can see his emotions and feelings. I am pleased if you can not tell, and no, please don't change a thing. I can't wait till Christmas, my husband is going to be shocked to say the least. Thank you very much, I will let you know my husband's reaction after Christmas.

Melanie,
Hello, I hope you have had a wonderful holiday. I wanted to send you some pictures of my husband opening his painting on Christmas and I was going to send a really good one of it framed but I gave my husband the option of taking it to work and putting in his office or hanging it up at home. Much to my surprise he chose his office and the very next day it was gone. The painting had him choked up when he opened it and he even got teary eyed, everyone was astonished that it was a painting, one family member kept insisting it was a photo. Needless to say, we are extremely happy with our portrait and will always cherish it. Thank you so much for creating such a special piece for us.

Oil Painting of Prissy - Ron contacted me after his sister commissioned a painting of Chance (see base of the page) and from this recommendation he wanted me to paint Prissy as a retirement gift for his work colleague. A special banquet was prepared and the painting was presented at the dinner. Ron emailed a couple of times and also sent a wonderful photo of the painting and its family.

Hi Melanie,
The portrait of Prissy arrived Saturday afternoon. Can't believe it arrived so quickly. Thanks for sending it the way you did. We are taking it this afternoon or tomorrow to find a nice frame so it will be ready for us to present to Sallie. I will send pics to you as soon as I take some and figure out how to download them to the computer.
Ron

Hi Melanie,
The banquet went off beautifully. Sallie had a wonderful evening which was topped off with the presentation of the portrait of Prissy. Sallie was so touched and lost it for a few minutes when we displayed it to her. Every time I see Sallie she raves about the portrait and says that she has to pause to look at it every time she passes it.
Hope all is well with you.
Ron

Oil Painting on Canvas - Colin emailed to ask if I would immortalize their little spaniel, this was their first ever dog and they wanted a portrait of him while he was still young. They were so kind and took a photo of them, the painting and their dog too!

Hi Melanie,
Just been into the website and the picture looks cracking. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Hi Mel,
Just a short mail to let you know that the portrait arrived safely and is absolutely stunning. From memory I am sure you recommended framing behind glass.
Colin

Steve emailed me looking to commission a portrait of his cat who sadly was no longer with us. Steve had two lovely photos, a head close up shot and a full body laying down. We couldn't decide which photo would capture her best so Steve decided to go for both. The full body portrait can be seen below hanging on the wall.

Hi Melanie
Sorry for my long silence. I have had both paintings framed, and enclose one of them for you: I still haven't decided on a position for the other one! As you can see it looks absolutely wonderful.
Once again many thanks for two beautiful portraits.
With best regards Steve

Hi Melanie
It looks absolutely fantastic: I can't tell you how glad I am that we chose that particular photo, and how glad I am that we chose you to paint her for us. Holly was a really beautiful feminine, but very spirited and lively, cat and you have captured these characteristics perfectly. Once again thanks so much.
With very best regards
Steve

Dear Melanie,
The portrait of Holly arrived safely today - thanks. It looks spectacular and an absolutely perfect likeness of her. It's just like looking at a mirror-image of her! I now need to arrange to have it properly framed. We are truly delighted with the painting, and once again thank you so much.
With best regards Steve

Ruth Colson dropped me a line as she wanted to get her dog drawn for her parents christmas present. You can hear form the wonderful testimonial below, they were absolutely delighted.

Hi Mel, I LOVE it!!! Looks fantastic - can't wait to see it in reality! Thanks so much Mel, I hope you now get a well-deserved break for Christmas! Best wishes for a happy Christmas! Ruth Colson

Hi there.
Just before Christmas you did a sketch of Doc at the request of our daughter Ruth Colson. We were duly presented with the sketch as a wonderful Christmas present. Now that our birthdays are here we have received part two of our present and the sketch has been framed. I am attaching a couple of pictures I took as soon as we got the sketch home today. Will take some more when I have better light and don’t need a flash. Lyn and I are delighted with the wonderful sketch and it will occupy pride of place in our lounge. Doc is our third dog and this is the first time we have been able to photograph a pet so easily (thanks to the digital camera) and then do so much with the picture. Your sketch captures the spirit of Doc. You can see a large framed photo of Doc’s picture in one of these photos. That has been relegated to the dining room and the sketch has our full attention. Many thanks for your efforts, we are telling friends, people at training classes and even total strangers we meet with their dogs about your service. I hope you get more work from this but judging by the comments in your BLOG you seem to have plenty already. Thanks from Kit and Lyn Colso

Brooklyn and Emma are owned by Jennifer Bates and i had quite a time working out which dog was which when Jennifer emailed me the photos, Both dogs looked identical! The portrait worked out really well and the photo Jennifer took was fantastic!

Hi Melanie!
We received the drawing of Brooklyn and Emma!!!!! It looks exactly like them....My husband loved it and made me take it to get it framed immediately so "nothing would happen to it!" It was delivered on Wednesday of this week and I apologize for not letting you know sooner that we got it!!! We love it and thank you so much!!!
I will definitely take a picture of it with Brooklyn and Emma and send it to you as soon as the frame is completed!!
Thanks! Jennifer Bates

Chance - Oils on Canvas - Thelma emailed to commission me to paint Chance for her husbands Christmas gift. She send me a photo of the portrait framed along with Chance too!

Melanie,

My husband Billy was really amazed at how you captured Chance's good looks and his expression. He said it is a beautiful picture and he is really happy with it.

Thank you again for your great work.
