This photo is of a wet dog, I would have no problem painting him just as he is, however he would be more tricky to paint if the customer requested for him to have a dry coat. It would be possible if I had further reference with the coat dry but it would be better to take some photos for the portrait with a dry coat if this is how you would like him portrayed. Another problem with this photo is the lack of ears, I would only be able to add them if the client had additional reference of the ears taken at a similar angle. |
Unfortunately it would be very difficult for me to open the eyes on this labrador, unless other reference in the exact same pose and angle was supplied. It is normally easier to take a new range of photos for the portrait. If you take between 30 and 40 photos I can guarantee you will come up with the perfect pose! |
If your dog has an object in its moth i am unable to take the object out and portray him or her with his mouth in the normal position. it would be best to take a new range of photos - or have the portrait just like the photo, in this instance with the ball. He looks so cute!

I would be unable to remove this dogs hat as I would have to 'make up' his forehead, top of head and ears etc. its just not possible. |
If your dog is wearing a jacket I am unable to paint him or her without it, unless you have some photos without the clothing from the exact same angle. If you are able, it would be best to take a range of new photos without the clothing, especially for the portrait. |
If your dog is chewing a bone then the only thing I can do is draw him or her exactly like they are in the photo. |
