Pet Portrait Painting Information

Veda was a much loved Rottweiler owned by Liz and her family in the US, who was sadly lost to cancer in 2008. Liz wanted us to portray Veda in oils on canvas at 12 x 10 size and so contacted me to start the commissioning process. They initially wanted a portrait of Veda with her front legs crossed, as you can see in a couple of the lovely the photos I have included below, however sadly they weren't suitable for a portrait as you couldn't really see her face clearly. So we opted for a lovely head study instead and I think it captures her character well and they were all thrilled. I hope you enjoy this page of information and if you would like to commission us to paint your pet don't hesitate to email us at any time.

The Pet Portrait Painting in Progress....

Photos are taken during the progress of the portrait in our studio. The lighting can change throughout the day which can account for colour differences between each stage.

Client Pet Portraits Reference Photos
The photos depicted below may vary in colour to the finished painting above. This can be due to the scanned oil painting being slightly different to the original or often clients give us more than one photo to work from i.e. one for the pose and another for colouring.

Client Testimonial

Oh Melanie - it's beautiful! It's going to make me cry. You really captured her very well. I'll forward it to my husband, but I doubt he'll want changes. Liz.

Hi Melanie
The portraits arrived yesterday and they are gorgeous!! Thanks so much - and thank Nick, too. We're really very happy with them. When I get them framed, I'll send you a photo, if you are interested. And I'll pass along your flyers to my vet friend. It's been great working with you.
Liz.
