Pet Portrait Painting Information
Pete (UK) contacted me in 2007 to see if I would be able to paint their rabbit in oils on canvas size 12 x 10 for his wife. Both Nick and myself are able to paint all animals, we were traditionally trained in Natural History illustration and so can paint anything from a mouse to an elephant! I was delighted to paint Abigail. I have added a few photos of Abigail below, along with stages of the portrait, a final scan, a detail of the painting and a lovely testimonial from both Pete and Juliet when they received the painting. Photos are taken during the progress of the portrait in our studio. The lighting can change throughout the day which can account for colour differences between each stage.

The photos depicted below may vary in colour to the finished painting above. This can be due to the scanned oil painting being slightly different to the original or often clients give us more than one photo to work from i.e. one for the pose and another for colouring.

Dear Melanie, Abigail has just arrived. We lost her just over 8 months ago and to be honest, I have had great difficulty in coming to terms with this, as I am sure you understand.
