Pet Portrait Painting Information
Ted commissioned us to paint Maxwell's portrait in 2009. They visited us in the spring along with Maxwell and explained how he would like Maxwell portrayed. Maxwell came straight into our little cottage, saw the wood burning stove in the front room and promptly laid down in front of it and fell asleep! He felt at home which was wonderful. We then met Ted in our local dog friendly country house hotel & restaurant where Ted was staying for a meal to discuss the portraits further. He commissioned two large paintings, one with Maxwell in the Lake District, and one of Maxwell dressed as Lord Nelson for his Yacht, both oils on canvas 30 x 24 in size. You can see the Lord Nelson portrait framed in the photos at the bottom of the page. Ted came up to collect both paintings and again we met for a meal and they were delighted. Sadly, since painting the portrait, Maxwell passed away, so these portraits will be a wonderful reminder for Ted and his family. I hope you enjoy this page of information and if you would like to commission us to paint your pet don't hesitate to email us at any time.
The Pet Portrait Painting in Progress....
Photos are taken during the progress of the portrait in our studio. The lighting can change throughout the day which can account for colour differences between each stage.

Client Pet Portraits Reference Photos
The photos depicted below may vary in colour to the finished painting above. This can be due to the scanned oil painting being slightly different to the original or often clients give us more than one photo to work from i.e. one for the pose and another for colouring.

Client Testimonial
Maxwell and his owner collected the portrait personally and we dined with them that evening. The portrait was a wonderful success and the owner was very pleased.
