Pet Portrait of Golden Labrador

Hi Melanie - well he arrived today! I'm just speechless. He is beyond stunning. Just brilliant! There is not one thing I could alter. And I'm so glad I went up on the size as he is literally life size which I didn't realize he would be. It's like he's just sitting in the room with me. He's just beautiful Melanie - as beautiful as he was in real life - I could not be happier!! I'm a big sap and of course cried, but they are happy tears. I'm just so thrilled to be able to have this wonderful memory of him to carry with me always. He was such a special boy - there is not a day that goes by I don't think about him - so to have this to see everyday is just wonderful. It's just so very special.

We are planning to see my sister Sat. She's already been working on a couple of ideas for me to pick from. So, hopefully will have him framed up and I'll be sending a picture off to you by the end of this coming weekend.

I can't thank you enough of course!!!! :) so THANK YOU!!!
Kelly

"Cody" Labrador in Oils On Canvas 16 x 12 Oil on canvas

Here you will find the full painting of Cody and you can click on the smaller version left to view a detailed version of the portrait. Kelly Williams contacted me to paint a portrait of her dog and emailed me a selection of photos. The one that really stood out for me was this one taken at Christmas when he had a beautiful red and cream velvet collar and bell on. To me the colours of his coat and the collar just stood out so well, plus the 'look' of Cody in the photo really captured my heart. I decided to add a dark olivey colour to the background as i felt this would recede well behind and give me enough depth to bring out the beautiful tones of creams and warm Ochure in Codys coat.

Above is a close up detail. This portrait was painted on 16 x 12 professionally stretched canvas using fine quality oil paints. As you can see form my descriptions i really enjoyed painting Cody and he will certainly be in my gallery here for a very long time! Below is an excerpt from one of Kellys emails, i really enjoyed chatting to Kelly via email and this is what she said when she received her portrait.
