This is Baz the Springer Spaniel from the UK. Sadly we didn't have any stages of this portrait, it was painted just before christmas in 2006 and we were extremely busy with portraits for final deadlines that christmas. We had felt it was better to get the painting completed, dried and delivered on time - which we did. It was a 16 x 12 oil portrait on cotton canvas. I have received the portrait today and it has arrived safely. I am absolutely amazed at the likeness and from a short distance it still looks likes a photo to me. I am not going to show Paul until Christmas Day as although he knows about it I still think he is going to be totally gobsmacked when he sees it.
