Wales often gets a sprinkling of snow and it always looks so magical. We live fairly rural on a narrow country lane so we are usually one of the last roads to gritted - or it feels like it! We have to make sure we are stocked up with food over the winter months 'just in case'. As we work from home we aren't very disrupted by it, however we do tend to sit longer by our wood burner to keep warm! I hope that you enjoy the photos below from various snow falls over the last few years.
This is our cottage one christmas early in the morning, you can see the christmas lights twinkling under the eves. We always feel our cottage looks so pretty in the snow, and you can see the warm glow from the inglenook through the window.
The snow was coming in again from the left when I took this photo in December 2010. The sun was just coming up over the hill - the best time for photographs.
As the sun comes up the colours of the clouds can often be really pretty and these snow clouds are no exception, they merge almost with the landscape itself.
This was taken the first winter we moved in to our cottage, we were so excited to see snow on that first year!
Early morning is always best best time to be walking in the snow and the sunrise is always beautiful.
The narrow lane where we walk Tom every day covered in snow.
The trees look amazing when they are full of snow.
Nick getting lost on our snowy lane!
This is a view from across the fields along our lane, looking almost towards the forestry right in the distance. This where we often take Tom for his walks and splashing's in the river in the summer.
This was taken 2009 really early one morning, you can see the sun hasn't quite come up yet and the colours of the sky compared with the coldness of the snow is amazing.
