15 years ago Nick and I met at art college. After college and a year doing a variety of illustration jobs with London based publishers, I set myself up as a self employed pet portrait artist. I wanted to be my own boss.
Its been a rocky road and has not been easy and I have had to learn the hard way. Everything you see on this website has come from a long process of trial and error and many hours of dedicated work. I'm constantly striving to become a better artist, and develop web design skills to produce the best possible website for our customers.
There are many, many features on this website that are the result of plans Nick and I have discussed whilst on our daily walks. Most of these features can now be seen on hundreds of other pet portrait websites, but we have the satisfaction of knowing that the ideas originated with us and we will continue to innovate and evolve for years to come.
In my 'down time' my garden is my haven. Not so much in the winter as Wales is renowned for its rain and we certainly get our fair share, but in the summer it relaxes me, I love to plant and watch things grow. Fucias are my favourite and I really enjoy taking macro shots of the flowers, you can see a couple of them in the gallery above.
Having been bought up on a small farm from childhood, I have always been around animals and wildlife and was always the one to bottle feed the abandoned or runt babies that were born, from piglets, lambs, chicks and even a bottle fed calf. Sheep and chickens have been my favourite and I still have five pet sheep and a gaggle of hens to this day. My parents still live on the same farm but have less land and far less animals to look after - apart from mine of course!
I hope you feel you have got to know me a little better and if you are considering commissioning me to paint your pet, I look forward to finding out about you too!
