How Your Frame is Packaged

The packaging of a portrait is very important to me, particularly as i have spent many hours at my easel painting, it would be unwise to send the portrait out in shoddy packaging only to have it damaged through the postal system. Over the years i have tried many packing methods using a variety of different material, some worked, some didn't and i feel i have now whittled it down to the best combination for my needs.

In Illustration of my packaging, without a frame, is shown at the bottom of the page. The framed portraits are packed in entirely the same way, however will have large cardboard corners and plastic to protect the frame. The photos below give you an idea of how the framed portrait will look when it arrives to you.

This is a photo of the portrait wrapped in framers cellophane to protect the edges of the frame from scratches and dents. This is a close up to how how the cellophane is protecting the corners of the portrait and frame The cellophane can also be found on the back of the frame.

This is a full photo of the entire portrait and frame with cellophane and the protective corner edges. This is a close up of the corner edges, the cardboard is very thick and protects the frame from any damage. This is a photo of one of the corner edges we use to protect the frame.

As you can see from the diagram there are many aspects to the packaging.

Although the diagram shows one single layer of large bubble bubble wrap, this is for illustration purposes only. I use many, many layers and wrap the bubble wrap tightly around the whole package to secure everything together to protect and cushion the portrait and frame.

As you can see this illustration demonstrates a portrait that is frame ready, without a frame, but the packaging will be exactly the same along with the frame packaging in the photos above.

All framed portraits are sent Parcelforce 48 and there is a charge for the postage due to the weight and extra packaging. To read more about the postage please visit the framing prices page.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me at any time.
