Nick and myself have painted a few Beagle pet portraits over the years and here are examples of Beagle pet portraits. Oils are the perfect medium to portray both their coat and their colouring.
The aim is to keep the muzzle area really nice and soft so that the viewer can almost feel the velvety feel of the beagles coat just by looking at the portrait.
Beagles have wonderful expressive faces, particularly with their soft warm colours in their coat. I prefer to use dark backgrounds as this brings out the colours in the coat and helps to enhance the eyes.
Beagles can be drawn in graphite pencil, pastel or painted on canvas. All of the mediums work well for Beagles.
You are more than welcome to email us photos of your beagle and we will create a composite of how your portrait could look so you can see it visually before making payment.
If you have a Beagle and would like to commission a pet portrait please don't hesitate to email me at any time. |
