Toms getting on well, he’s been with us three weeks today and is much more settled and happy, and we are happier too, as we are getting to understand him, finding out what he understands and what he needs to be taught.

He has learnt a lot already and I have moved on from getting him to sit and wait when I put food down, to sit, lay down, wait and I can now put the bowl on the floor and move away before giving the command to eat. When I give the command he skids across the kitchen floor! We have him on a new food now too which has been recommended to us, Nature Diet which is full of goodness and protein, no nasties in it whatsoever, and I think its filling him up a little more. He is still having some biscuits along with it and I think he’s put on a little weight this week which is good news and he doesn’t seem as ravenously hungry as when he first arrived. I have added a few more photos in his slideshow, just click on the picture below : )

What a lucky little dog to have been adopted by you and Nick! I hope he is still getting on ok – I think you are very brave to have adopted a dog who may have problems but you are obviously going to give him a wonderful ‘second chance’.
My boys are well – although just about speaking to us again after leaving them in kittery when we went cruising for three weeks!
Take care – all of you!

Hi Trish, lovely to hear from you and so glad to hear that all is well with ‘the boys’ : ) Tom is doing ok, hes gradually getting use to people, the more people that visit us the better really. He tends to be a little nervous with people at the start, and then he tries to lick them to death!! he will gradually gain confidence and settle though. He’s completely at home here with us which is great : )
Hope you are still enjoying your painting and nice to hear you managed to get away from this awful weather we have been having, hope you found some sunshine!
    Melanie xx
