pet portraits home cat portraits by Melanie and Nick horse portraits by Nick Beall dog portraits and paintings in oils, pencil and pastel by Melane and Nick

Hi All,

Just a quick post to blog my latest portrait to come off the easel. This is the collie portrait I have been working on. Its in oils, on 12 x 10 linen canvas and I have really enjoyed painting this one, the eyes especially reminded me of our late collie called Jenny, there are quite a few similarities. I scanned the portrait in this morning, however the paint is still wet so it will now sit in the drying rack for a few more days until it can leave the studio. Off to take a photo of Nicks pastel horse now, he has been busy over the last few days and has finally complete it today, its quite a large size so it wont fit in the scanner so ill take some photos of it. This one will be framed, so Ill make sure I take some photos for Nick so he can blog the framed version too.

Very nice (as always) I was looking over Nicks blog and you both are so talented. It’s amazing. SO how do you decide who does what portrait? Or does the client choose when ordering?

I just love this one. His eyes are so bright and the fur looks so soft.
