This is my latest portrait to come off the easel, its an 18 x 14 pencil, the final portrait in a group of five for an Australian client. I have already started my next portrait, which is the oil portrait of Tobi, which coincidentally is for a different client from Australia : ) I will hopefully post a stage tomorrow, I have been working on it all day but got so engrossed I forgot to take a photo so the whole of the first stage is blocked in.

Tom is doing well, he has been to the park swimming in the river today and we took some great photos, he loves to swim, especially in this hot weather. I will add a few of them on to his page tomorrow. We are off to training this evening and our fantastic trainer friend in Scotland has just emailed, she has added some photos I took of Tom modelling his new towels on her website. The towels are amazing go and have a read for yourself on Doggie Paddles, if you are in the UK you can buy them mail order from her too.  Toms dry in seconds when using them!

Nick is currently working on a beautiful cat portrait of Ellie and Barney for a birthday gift this month. The portrait is simply stunning already and it wont be complete for a couple more days. Its on Nicks easel at the moment and I have been taking photos as it is progressing. He has 98% completed the cat on the left and he will be working on the cat on the right tomorrow.  I will add further stages here so that you can see how Nick is getting on. This is a bespoke size 24 x ? Nick is working on a large piece of pastel paper and we will have the portrait mounted and framed to a depth that suits the image. I will take photos when it is complete of course!

Nick has started a pastel portrait this morning and I have completed the pencil portrait below for my Australian Client. it is an 18 x 14 portrait in graphite pencil. I’m about to start Sootie the final drawing for this client and I’m really looking forward to getting started as its a lovely pose and gorgeous dog.

The weather is very warm here and Tom is usually laid flat out in the studio snoozing for most of the day.. that is until he hears a fly then he’s up chasing it until he can catch and eat it and then he goes back for a snooze. What a life! : )

Here are the three Miniature Pinscher pencil portraits, 10 x 8 in size that will hopefully be framed together side by side in one frame when they get to their destination in Australia. I have two more drawings to do for the same clients,  I have already started one of them and I hope to have a final scan sometime tomorrow.

Had a lovely weekend with the visitors and both Nick and myself have been working hard in the studio so far this week.  Nick has completed the pastel portrait and it has been emailed to the customer, so hopefully it will be sent off later in the week. Its a UK commissions, completed in pastel to the size of 16 x 12. I am doing well with my three small pencil drawings and I hope to blog them tomorrow.

This is my latest portrait to come off the easel, I started it just before we went on holiday so it had been through one drying stage which enabled me to add the final details when we got back to work on Monday morning!  The portrait is a 12 x 10 portrait on linen canvas for a returning clients, I have already painted their other Corgi, so hopefully this one will take pride of place next to, or near to, the other painting in my clients home.

I am just about to begin the three 10 x 8 graphite pencil portraits of the Miniature Pincers next and I will blog all three together when they are completed. They are separate drawings however they will be framed together when they get to Australia.

Nick has started a black Labrador and hopes to be completed by early next week. We have visitors coming this weekend so we wont be in the studio for a couple of days,  I will hopefully be bloging Nicks portrait, and my pencil drawings after the weekend.

We have just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday in the lake District with friends. We had an absolutely wonderful and relaxing time – apart from being tired walking up hills and down dales, it was really lovely to take a break from the studio for a week.

I have added a selection of photos from our trip at the link below, just click on the photos below and it will take you to a more detailed page of what we did and some lovely photos. Sit back and admire the views as they are stunning. Its definitely somewhere I will return to, I felt an affinity with Cumbria, more than I ever have with anywhere else we have visited. It is no wonder Beatrix Potter held it so dearly to her heart.

This is my latest montage pet portrait to come off my easel, and its of a gorgeous little dog called Titus. Its a 20 x 16 portrait in graphite pencil and hopefully it will be on its way to the US in the next few days.

One of my clients, Lee Howard, very kindly had a photo taken of himself with Raison’s pet portrait. Its a fantastic photo and I have added it to the home page of our testimonials section and added the photo, some of our correspondence and a photo of the pet portrait hanging on the wall. I have also added a photo of the portrait when I was taking photos of it in our garden with Tom posing next to it! Have a look on Raison’s Testimonial Page to see! It was a 16 x 12 graphite pencil and coloured pencil portrait.
