The pet portrait of Spike is now complete and has been emailed to the client. The frame is being made and hopefully it will be set early next week to the clients. The portrait is a 16 x 12 pastel portrait which will be mounted / matted in a complementary cream mount and a soft honey coloured frame. Ill add photos as soon as we have picked it up from the framers.

Nick has two portraits on the go at the moment, the horse in oils (pictured below in a previous post) which is still in a drying stage, and the next portrait in the client list, which is a horse called Ellie. I will add the stages as soon as I can.

Cheyenne’s portrait has now been framed and I have taken a few pictures below. The frame is silky smooth and works very well with the painting, it really brings out Cheyennes colouring. I hope to be able to send the painting to America this week as its now fully dry.

This portrait is on Nicks easel at the moment, its for a birthday deadline in May and is heading for Australia. Nick will be working on the next stages soon and I will post them hopefully on Monday.

This is Nicks latest portrait, a beautiful horse called Paris. The stages below are from 1 to 4 and the next stages should be online next week. Its now in a drying stage so the next layer can be put on.

A client has returned for two more pastel portraits, which I have added to the client list on the right. Nick did a lovely portrait last year which you can see framed below of two Basenjis and they have been very kind and taken a photo of the painting on the wall. We thought the stunning marble on the wall was just as beautiful as the artwork. The frame and matt / mount they chose work well with the colours of the marble and Nicks pastel portrait.

We have taken a week off of work and travelled 800 miles on a bit of a tour to visit family around the UK. The last stop was to visit our little niece and nephew who were staying in Cornwall. We had a lovely time, took them to the cinema to watch the animated film ‘How to tame your Dragon‘ which was fantastic, the kids loved it and I think we enjoyed it as much as they did. The animation was superb. We also took them for an afternoon on the beach in the rock pools which was lovely, the sunshine was warm and they enjoyed themselves loads.

Helen came to pick up her paintings of Eboni and Smoki and Nick took a series of photos of Helen and myself. Our dog Tom decided to get in on the photoshot and so Nick took quite a comical series of photos which I thought would be fun to share. Helen was delighted with the oil paintings and the two giclee prints and I have added the paintings on the website in the oil gallery. Eboni and Smoki

We are off on holiday for a week doing a quick tour around the UK visiting family so I will blog as soon as we get back home.

Here is the final scan of Cheyennes portrait and all I need to do now is paint the edges and sign it. I wanted to get it scanned in though as we are going away for Easter so im getting organised! The painting is on canvas to the size of 16 x 12 and it will hopefully be wending its way to America as soon as its fully dry.
