All of the paintings you see on our blog are commissions from clients worldwide. We traditionally hand paint or draw every pet portrait ourselves. There's no digital trickery involved! We start by drawing out the image by hand and follow on with painting in oils, pastel or in pencil and you can follow each stage we make here on the blog on a daily basis.

Rocky the Boxer Pet Portraits

This is my latest portrait and what a size! I think its one of the largest coloured pencils i have ever done at around 20 x 23 in size. It took quite a while as you can imagine. I’m about to pack it up now and i think im going to wrap it in a whole roll of bubblewrap!! I often wonder what my clients do with it all, i have had funny stories of clients being lost in their kitchen in a mass of bubble wrap :)

Heres a portrait i have just completed of Daisy in graphite pencil as a sketch. This one was great to do as i was able to choose a lovely garden for the background and i used an amalgamation of three photos. I hope you like it!

Pet Portrait of Cody in oils

Funnily enough I had two Codys to paint around the same time for separate clients. This is Cody in oils. Cody is no longer with us and the clients were thrilled with their portrait and quite a few family members all wrote to me with letters of thanks which was totally wonderful.
