Morning all! Yesterday I finished the African Grey Parrot and thought you would like to see it. I’m starting a pencil drawing of a black lab montage today and its in a different design to any of the others I have done. This is a portrait that was a gift voucher at xmas and we have only just managed to sort out photos of the dogs! The client had a specific design in mind which she mocked up for me and im starting today, it looks really neat actually!

Ok back to drawing now!! :)

I have finished the cat logo for a lady in Canada, actually I finished it yesterday but I am a little behind in adding it to the site and blog!! I hope you all like it. I am in the middle of a parrot pencil drawing and I will hopefully be able to add it to the blog tomorrow.

Monday saw the task of updating the forum software, I was very worried about doing this, as I had not updated the program software with a new version before so I was a little apprehensive, but it all went very smoothly. I have made a new addition to it too. Everyone now has a rank  according to how many post a person has made they get a ranking and I thought of the raking going from puppy all the way though 6 sizes of dogs to a Great Dane! So if a person posts 350 messages they get to a ranking of a Great Dane!! I think I probably confused some of my forum members while I was working out how to do it!! Confusion over now!! So that was fun!

Hi All,

Just thought i would post my latest portrait. I have scanned it in this morning, it was rather a large one at 20 x 24 so took quite a while! I hope you all like it! Its a portrait of an Alsatian in oils on canvas. The client wanted a grassy backdrop, but nothing too detailed to detract from the dog. Hope you like it!

I was asked recently to create a portrait for a new dog salons logo. They wanted a portrait of their dog as the main logo for business cards, letterheads, promotions and their website in the future. Below is the final scan of the portrait, and the client is hopefully going to send me some stationary to scan and add to my website when its complete.

Heres the Beagle pet portrait as promised! It was a 20 x 16 portrait in oils on fine grain professionally stretched canvas. I don’t stretch my own canvas – just like we don’t make frames for our portraits. We find that we not only don’t have the time but we like to leave this to the professionals! We then know that if the canvas is professionally stretched there is less chance for movement.

Here are two lovely Labradors I have finishes last week called Jasper and Holly as realistic pencil portraits to the size of 12 x 10. Beagles on its way here in a bit……

Happy Easter everyone!

Well how busy has it been this week! First of all my new computer arrived – so long awaited, I have had my old one for just over 4 years now and although it was upgraded last year the processor was just not good enough to deal with programs I use. So the new one is a dream! Its got a 19 widescreen monitor and was well worth the extra, I would thoroughly recommend it. I have my portrait monitor connected too so I can work on each for specific tasks. Now I know the dimensions of the monitor ill add some new wallpapers for that size screen.

I have also finished the beagle and two pencil drawings of cute labs so I will add them to the blog soon.

Heres the final scan of the spaniel, I found a new typeface too! Im off now to start a Beagle Pet Portraits in Oils.
