These are a collection of photos that a client has recently emailed us. Heather very kindly took them of her and her cat Rikki along with the portrait. Heather also took some of  the portrait on the wall in their home. The frame that they have chosen goes beautifully with the painting. The portrait has a very ethereal feel with a lot of light and the dark frame enhances these qualities within the portrait itself. Rikki is very old now and so we are extremely grateful for him to pose for us and we send him our warmest wishes of thanks!

We had a lovely day today as clients travelled all the way from Devon to visit us and to pick up their portrait. Nick painted their three chocolate Labradors and you can see our clients with their portrait below, they very kindly posed for us in front of our fireplace.

They bought two of their beautiful chocolate Labradors with them, their eldest they left with family while they travelled. Its so strange to actually meet the dogs in person as we dont often get a chance to do this. We feel we become very familiar with the dogs as we study the photos so much and see them come to life on the easel. To meet them in real life its very odd  – you instantly recognise them and feel you know them!

Both Liz and Steve run Blagdon Manor – www.blagdon.com which is a beautiful dog friendly hotel in Devon, UK. Have a look at their website and you will see Nutmeg, Cassia and Mace on there too. Nicks portrait will be hung in the hotel and they also had prints made for their family. Once Tom is happy to meet other dogs without barking we hope to take Tom down there, it will be great to go away and take him with us. We will keep attending the training classes!

Tom enjoyed the meeting too, he obviously didn’t meet the labs as we are still working through his doggy issues but he certainly enjoyed some fuss and attention from their owners. Everyone seems to fall in love with Tom when they meet him, I think its his huge brown eyes and his blonde eyelashes : )

We have just received photos from our client who has taken photos of her mum and Honey the dog with the portrait that Nick drew for them a few weeks ago. These photos will be wonderful for the website and I hope to add them soon.

One of my clients, Lee Howard, very kindly had a photo taken of himself with Raison’s pet portrait. Its a fantastic photo and I have added it to the home page of our testimonials section and added the photo, some of our correspondence and a photo of the pet portrait hanging on the wall. I have also added a photo of the portrait when I was taking photos of it in our garden with Tom posing next to it! Have a look on Raison’s Testimonial Page to see! It was a 16 x 12 graphite pencil and coloured pencil portrait.

Helen came to pick up her paintings of Eboni and Smoki and Nick took a series of photos of Helen and myself. Our dog Tom decided to get in on the photoshot and so Nick took quite a comical series of photos which I thought would be fun to share. Helen was delighted with the oil paintings and the two giclee prints and I have added the paintings on the website in the oil gallery. Eboni and Smoki

We are off on holiday for a week doing a quick tour around the UK visiting family so I will blog as soon as we get back home.

These photos have just come through from a previous commission I did in 2009 of a dog called Sammy. It was a large 24 x 18 painting as you can see in the photo and the shininess you can see in the painting is the protective sheet I include with the portrait. They are wonderful photos and just perfect for the website. In fact I have added them already!

This is a lovely photo taken by the client when they gave the portrait to the recipient for her birthday. The family commissioned me to paint Charlie for them as a surprise gift and I  am so grateful when clients take photos when they have opened the painting as it really allows me to be part of the giving process.

Happy St Davids Day too!

Well its still very cold, the road is still icy and we still haven’t had any post deliveries, so we have arranged to have it delivered to a lovely lady in the village, we are hoping to walk down to pick it up this morning.  Just catching up on a few emails and we will head down there. Its about a mile to the village so not too far to walk but it gets a bit slippy on the road. We are all togged up with thermals, earmuffs and woolly hats and I’m sure that people who experience snow each and every year think the the UK is mad coming to a standstill because of the snow. I think because we don’t have it this harsh often we probably just aren’t well equipped enough.

Anyway! We had a lovely email through, not even half an hour ago with this wonderful photo of a portrait that Nick did before Christmas and they have very kindly sent us a photo of it framed. The client has chosen a lovely dark oak frame, which not only matches the tones and hues in the portrait well but also her décor too. Hope you like it! I have also started a portrait of a collie, so I’ll post that later too.

I have been meaning to blog these for a while, however I have been busy in the studio and am a little behind on my blog. These photos were taken by a client who I completed two large oil paintings for of his Labrador called Maxwell earlier this year. One of the paintings is Maxwell as Lord Nelson, and one of him in his favourite place in the Lake District. The paintings are now displayed in the clients home and has kindly allowed me to use them on the website. They have been framed beautifully and both have plaques on the frame with the titles of the paintings. They work well within the clients home, in particular the colours within each painting too. We hope to be working with the same client next year as he has a horse he would like Nick to paint. I hope you enjoy viewing the photos!

This is the portrait of Tig framed and you can see the client with the portrait at this post Happy Clients The portrait now lives in Jersey with its owner and they framed the paintings as you can see below. I hope that it will bring back wonderful memories of Tig for the owner. I was delighted to be able to paint Tig and I was also able to meet the clients too, which was great,  as I don’t get to meet clients very often.
