The Louvre, The Davinci Code & New Frames!
Filed Under Framing News | 2 Comments
Hi All,
The last couple of days have been spent sourcing an additional range of frames with my framer and I’m really excited to be able to unveil them today. We have a range of 6 new Ornate Frames with decorative corners, all very different from each other giving clients a great choice and they are beautiful! They are probably most suited to the oil paintings but are for all of the mediums we paint.
So where does the Louvre and the Davinci Code come into this you ask? Well! I will tell you……
The company we are sourcing these frames from supplied 100 frames, as close as they could to the original designs, finishes and to scale for the scenes set in the Louvre for the Hollywood blockbuster The Da Vinci Code. Fancy that!
You can read about their experiences and how it all came about in this article here – Davinci Code Frames
The frames that we have chosen for our portraits are probably a little less ornate than those in the Louvre, I don’t think many homes could cope with huge embellished Louvre replicas! However we feel that we have provided a wide range to suit most styles and tastes. The original idea was to source from more decorative frames for our oil paintings but the ones we have chosen are suited to all of our mediums so we are delighted. We cant wait for our first order!
Here are a few examples below. You can view them on our frames page and you can click on each moulding which will take you to the pet portraits shop. I have dedicated a page to each frame.

Additions to the Framing Section….

Framing News
Having now got the framing samples it has generated interest from clients and so I have been working further on the framing section. I have now taken photos of each moulding (apart from one I have missing im picking up on Sunday) and you can now see them at the link below.
Once you are on the framing page you can click on each moulding which will take you to the Pet Portraits Shop directly into that moulding, with information about each one. We are gradually adding photos of our paintings and drawings framed into each moulding page, to give clients an idea of how their portrait could look in the two styles - Deluxe and Traditional.
Clients don’t have to decide on the moulding when ordering, as we know that it can be a tricky choice wanting to match the colours with the portrait and it can be difficult to visualize how the portrait would look once complete. So it is possible for me to create a ‘composite’ of how your portrait could look in your favoruite mouldings.
I am visiting my framer on Sunday and collecting a batch of portraits that have been framed and I will take photos and add them into the framing section for cleints to view. I will make a quick blog post with photos for you to see.
I am also working on a new range of mouldings to offer clients particularity for the Oil paintings and in the larger sizes. I’m quite excited as I have seen the preliminary photos of the frames and I will blog as soon as I have samples for the website!

Frame Samples Arrived!
Filed Under Framing News | Leave a Comment
Hi All,
I have managed to get hold of some frame samples from my framers supplier, so that I can show them to clients who visit the studio. It is really difficult to tell what a frame looks like without seeing the moulding and this way, now I have the samples, I can recommend which frame I feel woudl go best with their portraits.
I had been deliberating as to how I would present the samples, somewhere easily accessible in the studio, but not to intrusive to get in the way and I think I have found the perfect place. The old beam just behind my easel is perfect and I still have space for new ones as the months go by. I purchased some Velcro from Ebay so that I can take them down and place them next to the painting to compare them, and then i can pop them back up there out of the way. Clever huh!
My framer and myself have been looking into a new range of frames too, with moulded edges, which are a little more elaborate and glamorous. I wont be able to have original samples in the studio of these but we will get some good photos of them. I will blog when they are available.

Here you will find up to the minute news from the studio and see the pet portraits we are currently working on. You are more than welcome to contact us at any time!
All of the paintings you see on our blog are commissions from clients worldwide. We traditionally hand paint or draw every pet portrait ourselves. There's no digital trickery involved! We start by drawing out the image by hand and follow on with painting in oils, pastel or in pencil and you can follow each stage we make here on the blog on a daily basis.
