Chinos original portrait is on the right, the print is on the left. Off now to photograph Max and Bacardi with their prints.

Here are the next stages of the Henry and Daisy portrait and this is the most up to date stage as of Sunday morning. We are in the studio today, beavering away, Nick painting and I’m drawing, with a slow roast pork in the oven for dinner this evening : )

I saw an artists freind had written on facebook today, that 4 weeks today its Christmas day. I cant belive its flying along so fast. We still have a number of portraits to complete for Christmas however Henry and Daisy is the last US painting and we are still in time for last posting dates. We have been doing this for many, many years now and I always stick to my rule, all overseas portrais to be completed by December 1st. As long as we stick to this rule the schedule is going well!

Hope you all have an enjoyable Sunday!

As promised here at the stages of me working on Finn’s portrait. The shadows you can see across the top of the paper, are just shadows from my easel lamp, the paper isn’t wobbly. I am about 95% finished and I want to start the next one as I want there to be a similarity between them as they will be hung together. When I get to this stage on both I will go back over each one making sure I am happy with them. Its also good, when you are working with a pencil, to put it away for a few days and then re-look at it with fresh eyes to make sure you haven’t missed anything. So the next stages will be of Fergus and then I will blog the final scans of them together.

I will blog Nicks portrait tomorrow of Henry and Daisy, there will be a number of stages together and its looking fantastic.

I thought I would do a roundup post today to let our clients know what’s been happening in the studio over the last couple of days. I went to the framers today to check up on a few things as we have two portraits there at the moment waiting to be framed and then visited the post office in our local village. Our postmistress informed us that this time last year we had snow as the village Christmas fayre is on at the weekend and last year it was cancelled. I am quite thankful that we don’t have snow this year and that its very mild at the moment and for the coming weeks too…well as far as they can predict! We have lots of portraits and paintings to get out for deadlines and clients visiting the studio to collect paintings so I’m hope this year the snow will stay away for the time being!

As well as some admin, I have also updated the website with the most recent portraits and you can view them here - Adam-Christian, Daisy and Charlotte  >>   and you can also view Barbara and the three Labradors >>

The print of Chewy has been framed and sent to the client to give to the breeder as a gift and I have taken a few photos of the portrait below. I have updated the prints and inner slip page with the new photos too. We have more prints arriving next week so I will update the pages again when they arrive and also blog them as well : )

Nick has been painting Henry’s portrait for the last few days, its looking fab and I have some stages to add to the blog soon. I have nearly finished the pencil portrait of Finn and I have a few photos Nick took of me working on it today so I hope to blog them tomorrow. Back soon!
