The weekend seemed to fly by here, we worked half days over the weekend and Nick is nearly finishing Frisbee’s portrait, I will blog more stages and the final scan tomorrow. I wanted to blog the portrait that he has been working on, over the last couple of weeks as it is completely finished now. I have added all of the stages and the final scan here together for you to view. The portrait is at the framers and we are due to pick it up on Thursday. This one is going to be framed with a linen slip and I think its going to look fab! I am nearing completion on a pencil portrait which I will also scan this week and blog : )

I hope you like the portrait below. I have already added it to the website here – Only Fools and Dogs and you can see the stages, the final scan and photos Nick worked from. Its an 18 x 14 portrait oil on linen.

Here are the next stages of Frizbee. As you can see Nick has been working on the portrait quite a bit since the last time we posted. The whole of the background has been painted over to create soft muted tones of green along with some muted tones of grass in the foreground which allows Frisbee and his rider to be the focus. Nick is currently working on the finer details of the horse and rider and we should have more stages early next week.

Here is the pencil portrait I have been working on this week, a little chap called Jackson, drawn at 12 x 10. He is gorgeous and I enjoyed drawing all those curls. I will post the progress of two portraits Nick has been working on this week, hes doing really well with both and I have been taking photos all week for the blog for our clients and readers to see.

My last post of the day will be the portrait of Jackson which I have completed so I’ll be back in a jiffy after I have packed the pencil portrait!

Here are the photos of Chewy and Bear framed! Its been quite a topsy turvy week this week and I am quite behind with the blog so I’m going to post quite a few posts over the next couple of days to get caught up a bit. When im drawing – ie not on the computer, thing do get a little behind with emails and website things, but I have a number of commissions myself and so these do take priority at the moment.

So to start the first set fo blog posts off are Chewy and Bears portraits framed. I have taken some photos as the studio has been filled with sunshine today and allowed me to take plenty for the website and blog. As you can see Chewy and Bear’s portraits have plaques on them and so they are now also in the framing section in their respective frame pages and the plaques section too. We are absolutely thrilled with how they have come out and im about to now pack them up ready to take to the post office tomorrow.

Last Saturday I took the afternoon to finally put together the chickens shelter for the winter and thought you would like to see the outcome as its turned out pretty cool. We saw something similar in a zoo in south Wales to shelter wallabies and thought the idea was perfect to shelter our chickens from the wind, rain and snow over the winter months. Also so they can hide from the Buzzards too. Of course they have a proper chicken house that they are locked in at night. I used some branches that we had collected from the trees we had felled in the little woodland. I even made a curved door shape for them at the front which I was really pleased with. I think it turned out pretty well and quite arty and creative too! I have added a couple of photos on the chickens page here >>

I will post photos of Nicks next portrait later on today : )

Here are the final scans of Chewy and Bear. I have already added Chewy to the website here – Chewy’s Portrait >>  I am so pleased with Nicks painting and I hope the client will be too. Its lovely here in the studio, the background is soft and the colour scheme is fantastic. It will look great framed too. Hopefully they will be on their way to the framers on Saturday. They will be framed along with their plaques and i will photograph them as soon as they are back here in the studio.
