Collie Pet Portraits Final Scan

This is the final scan of ‘Moss’ the collie, for a client here in the UK. Moss was a delight to paint, the grass always being the most difficult as it does take a long time to achieve the right feel and look to it. I always like to add some ochres to tone down the grass as i feel it gives a more realistic and natural feel. The light was also very important and so when i blocked the background of Moss in, i worked all in one sitting to be able to blend the light colours and keep the background as soft as possible. I hope that you all enjoy this piece!
