I hope you are all having a fantastic time this Christmas. I have downed plenty of Baileys and stuffed myself silly with turkey and quality street so im happy! Nick gave me a pair of cornflower blue boxing gloves for Xmas so I have been busy punching a speedball and boy do I ache today….!

And its my birthday tomorrow…if your lucky you can have some cake……. :king_tb:

Today has been as hectic as ever, the last client came to pick up their portrait this afternoon, we have done the rounds and seen the neighbours wishing them all a Merry Christmas and finished off a bottle of wine to get us in the festive spirit!!

I hope that you are all getting into the festive mood!

Well that wonderful time has come around again where on the day that we post off our last portraits we have a meal to celebrate – which we call our ˜Works Do! Daft I know as there’s just Nick and myself, but we enjoy it! Nick has one lady coming to collect some children’s portraits tomorrow and then that’s it, hes finished for the season too.

Dont forget only 4 more shopping days until xmas!

Today I have created my yearly online pet portrait christmas card. I was fed up with the same idea that everyone comes up with, the usual dog, cat or horse with a Santa hat on – that has been done so many times before. So I set myself a task of creating a more up to date modern card and sent it to all who subscribe. For all of those who come back to read my blog daily I would like to wish you a Very Merry Christmas – put your feet and enjoy yourself – I intend to!

This blog is in memory of my photographer friend Harold Richards who sadly passed a few days ago. I had a call from his daughter today. Harold was a superb photographer, his passion was documentary photography and he spent several months with local fishermen recording their day to day life in visual form, he studied hill farming battling the weather in the welsh mountain ranges photographing the farmers with their stock, and also in the farmyard recording traditions that are quickly dying out.

One particular range of photos showing a welsh villages typical life, holds one of my favourite photos, its of a Cobbler. I hope you all enjoy the photos below that he took throughout his life – we will all miss him.

Business is going well and I am completely booked up for portraits in January now and am spilling over into February, which is great. I have been creating mock-ups and making WebPages galore today as well as starting a Lurcher in Sepia which you can see on my working in progress page one.

I will blog some photos tomorrow!

I have been organising the last few pet portraits that are to be started before Christmas, i always leave the smallest and easiest till last so that we don’t have to struggling at the end. Nick is nearing completion of his portraits and im pleased to say we are both going to meet all of the demands made to us this year. its great when you have everything under control and organised it really makes a difference. i remember some years not being half as organised and working right up till the middle of the night, and Nick often through the night to get portraits completed just so that the owner can get them for Christmas. We are much stricter these days and don’t take on as much so that we aren’t so stressed over the xmas period.

More tomorrow!

I have now finished Baz and I have been able to scan him in today, and I enclose a copy below, he is a very handsome chap isnt he! I have even added him to the new splash bar on my home page; I think it gives a really bright fresh look to the page.

I have completed the local pet portrait of the dog in graphite pencil to the size of 7 x 5. unfortunately this is yet another I am unable to post until the recipient has received their gift. I will make sure I post the final portrait in a few weeks!

More tomorrow!

I have started yet another local portrait, this time its only a very small 7 x 5 pencil portrait of a dog and i should have it finished by the end of the day today. I am up early this morning and ready to start the day!

More tomorrow!
