Archived Graphite Pencil Pet Portraits Gallery 3
Welcome to my Pencil archived Gallery. All of my pet portraits start off in the Work in Progress section of the website. Once complete they are exhibited in the main galleries. I like to keep the main oil gallery to only 4 or 5 pages, as this is easier for me to maintain. I paint about 40 to 50 portraits per year so obviously I couldn’t have them all on there!
So to make room for the new pieces, and to give everyone a chance to see their portrait on my website, I have created an archived gallery for my artwork. You will find examples from the last few years and if you would like to see larger examples of any of these portraits please dont hesitate to email me at any time.
This particular archived gallery is dedicated to my oil portraits. I enjoy painting in oils and if you are interested in commissioning a portrait don't hesitate to email me at any time. |

No other medium gives quite the realism and lifelike quality that an oil painting can create, especially for a pet portrait. The over all effect of an oil painting has a very impressive, detailed, luxurious quality. Every animal can be portrayed in this medium and this is the best medium if you require a full background.

My oil paintings are painted on professionally stretched medium grain canvas. You may have seen oil paintings in galleries where the paint itself is raised up from the canvas, giving the painting a rough texture. This is not the way I paint. My style of painting is very soft and delicate, using very fine brush strokes.

As soon as you receive your oil painting it can be framed with or without glass in a ready made frame or taken to your local professional framers. All of the sizes I use are standard sizes and can be framed with ready made frames.Oil paintings are very hardy and they can be lightly dusted with a soft duster. If you have an open fire, a wood burning stove or coal fire Rayburn in the room you wish to display the painting, my advice would be to frame the painting under non reflective glass.

Your oil pet portrait will arrive to you flat packed with specialist packing materials that museums and galleries use, to avoid damage through the post. Once you receive the portrait you can frame it in ready made frames, or you can take it to your local framer where you can choose a matching mount/matt to compliment the portrait and frame. This type of portrait needs to be framed under glass, preferably non reflective.
